Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision Friday evening in the South Granville neighbourhood.
The crash on Granville Street at West 13th Avenue claimed the life of the male driver.
Just before 8:30 p.m., the vehicle mounted the west side of the curb along Granville and crashed into a storefront.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The passenger in the vehicle was taken to hospital and is in serious but stable condition,” said VPD spokeswoman Const. Tania Visintin in a release late Friday.
No other vehicles were involved and no pedestrians were injured.
This is Vancouver’s seventh fatal crash of 2020.
