Environment Canada has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver and the South Coast, starting Monday night.
The intense Pacific front will first hit the north and central B.C. coast, before sweeping south — bringing high winds and rain to Vancouver Island and Metro Vancouver.
Rain is forecast to be heaviest in Howe Sound, Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley on Monday night and Tuesday morning with up to 70mm expected.
A second, weaker system will cross the South Coast region on Tuesday afternoon. The pineapple express-type system will bring warmer temperatures, so no snow for ski resorts on the South Coast.
