A Vancouver McDonald’s is closed temporarily after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 recently.
On Oct. 26, an employee at a McDonald’s located at 3695 Lougheed Hwy. in Vancouver reported a positive COVID-19 test result.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party,” the company said in a statement issued Tuesday.
“We are working to ensure we reopen safely, as we know our guests depend on their local McDonald’s, and we are committed to doing our part to help our communities.”
All staff who interacted with the infected employee have been asked to self-quarantine for the time being. The employee’s most recent shift was overnight on Oct. 21 to 22, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
No reopening date has been shared.
