We looked for Whistler property for over 5 months before the perfect place became available. Peter had heard through the grapevine that the unit was up for sale before it even hit the MLS. He rushed over to the unit, took several digital photos, emailed them to us and immediately called to make sure that we saw the photos right away and before the other realtors in town were aware of the not-even-entered-yet listing. We put together an offer that afternoon which was ultimately accepted. Two days later, after inspecting and approving the unit to close the deal, Peter met with us for over 4 hours that evening to go over the building Strata AGM reports, financials, and the myriad of paperwork involved in purchasing vacation real estate in Canada. This was the type of “hand holding” service that is above and beyond the call-of-duty including following up with us the entire time we going through the transfer of funds during the financial transaction to make sure that no deadlines were missed nor any transaction "shorted" due to fluctuations in exchange rates that could have negated the deal. If it hadn't been for his initiative and quick reaction, we would have missed this rare opportunity to own our dream vacation home which has also appreciated VERY handsomely in value!

As we narrowed our choices down and ultimately made a decision on a specific property - Peter once again shined -- in a very hot real estate market he was able to secure our offer by making several calls to lock our offer and beat out a competing bid by what turned out to be a few hours. 
At closing Peter went the extra mile to make us feel at home in our new Canadian vacation home by not only filling the hot tub before our arrival but also negotiating the purchase of a pair of antique wooden skis that we had admired and had belonged to the previous owners. It didn't stop there. Peter made us feel that we were part of the Whistler experience; inviting us to parties, ski days on the "hill", and introducing us to future friends and neighbors.
It couldn't have been more perfect -- we enjoyed two wonderful years/seasons in Whistler and then sold our property for a 100% profit in 2003, with Peter.

"Peter Colls real estate service and market knowledge are second to none! We were encouraged by 3 of our friends to go in on a high-end town home in equal quarter shares in a pre-construction phase. We knew nothing about the market, but in a one day visit were essentially within minutes of signing the deal. We felt we should at least see what else that kind of money could buy. We had seen Peter's ski-caricature in a magazine and called him out of the blue, late afternoon on a Sunday. I explained very clearly our situation and the great likelihood that all we were doing was using him to understand the market and validate our decision. Peter met us after hours and listened carefully to what we were doing and what advantages were in it for us. He then very sincerely said that it was a great property, the "deal" was well structured and if that was what we wanted, we'd likely be very happy having already negotiated a fair deal. Rather than try to compete in ANY way with that, he instead focused on giving us a quick education on the entire market (different types of property, deals, structures, locations, etc.) and literally took hours to take us to and through many a property so we could clearly understand the market. At each, he would extol the virtues and relative distinctions, listen to how that related to our lives and needs, and then press on to continue helping us build our knowledge.
At the end of this process, he most sincerely said that given our feedback, he believed that we'd already found the right place. That 4 friends were going in together, the independent titles of a quality 1/4 share made sense, and at least we would then be "in the market" and when our lives offered more time to be in Whistler we could ponder other types of property. At that we said goodbye. We thought "what a nice and enjoyable man, generous sharing of knowledge...too bad he won't get a thing out of it!".
As our transaction proceeded, the fact that the listing agent for the property was acting as the sales agent became a concern. I felt we needed someone's expertise to ensure that the transaction went smoothly. Without a moment's hesitation, we called Peter. He stepped in, made all of the confusion disappear, dramatically reduced the amount of time we had to deal with the details...and helped us negotiate the final, important points. 
Having purchased eight properties, I can comfortably say that Peter's market knowledge and real estate transaction expertise are first rate. All details are managed with a minimum of fuss by us...and he knows how to work every aspect important to us. Interestingly though, we would quickly tell you that it is the manner in which Peter worked with and understood our needs that really set him apart. He was remarkably intuitive in assessing our needs relative to the market. Of course it doesn't hurt that he's immensely funny, deeply sincere and honest. We will no doubt work with Peter again and would welcome the opportunity to discuss our experiences with anyone who is considering doing business with him. Hi Peter; Sorry to hear you are leaving Whistler, I thought I'd send a quick note to thank you for your solid advice, and honest treatment of us in our four real estate transactions with you. Though we only met you twice in Whistler on an annual visit in 1999, this was enough comfort for us to successfully conclude four sales of our various properties electronically and by telephone from England and Australia. This included the sale of a difficult tenant in a detached home and three condominiums in Whistler Village, one of which was a re-sale for a substantial profit on a unit you sold us the previous year.
